Highway managers for the Oregon Department of Transportation invite the public to an open house to learn about upcoming bridge construction projects near The Dalles, slated to start next year.
The open house will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Discovery Center, 5000 Discovery Drive.
The upcoming work includes repair of the historic Mosier Creek bridge within the city, plus the Dry Canyon Creek Bridge west of Rowena, and replacement of the Chenoweth Creek Bridge near the west end of The Dalles.
This bridge project is set to begin in June 2017 and be finished by the fall. The replacement of the Chenoweth Creek Bridge will include a complete closure of Highway 30 for three weeks in July and August.
ODOT staff will also be available to answer questions about other upcoming projects, including repaving and construction work on Interstate 84 between Hood River and Rowena in 2018, Threemile Creek culvert removal and replacement in 2017 and Celilo Park safety improvements next year.
